Outgrowing Things

The pandemic brought about many things, most of them bad perhaps. One very good thing that came about was an evolution of my relationship to alcohol. All of 2021 was dry. I lost 60 pounds. We learned what good sleep felt like.

We added it back in 2022 and 2023 although nowhere near like previous. Now in 2024 it is more in-between, probably more to the 2021 side of the scale. That is a good place. The effects are too great - sleep is shit, heart rate doesn't lower, heart rate variability is in the gutter, tempature is up, ...

One beer, half a bottle of wine, up at 2:30 and the day included a nap ... Just not worth it anymore.
